Previous Events on Jujutsu Kaisen: What Happened?

In a high-stakes fight, Mahito almost manages to outwit Mechamaru. Kokichi devises a cunning plan after realizing that conventional means of attack will fail to kill Mahito’s spirit. After preparing the Miracle Cannon with two years’ worth of Cursed Energy, he fires it, causing Mahito’s clothes to catch fire and melt off. Even though Mechamaru is badly damaged, Kokichi is able to sneak up on Mahito and blow off his arm. While on the run from Geto and Kokichi’s relentless attacks, Mahito transforms into a number of different animals and escapes through the jungle in order to conceal his wounds.

When Mahito tries to turn off Mechamaru’s power, he is met with swift resistance. Kokichi prepares another technique charge in an attempt to kill his foe. Despite Kokichi’s expectations, Mahito has been steadily expanding his Domain. On the other hand, Mahito is hurt as Kokichi displays a particular technique, New Shadow Style: Simple Domain. As Mahito implodes, it would appear that Kokichi has won. But Mahito returns and engages in combat with Mechamaru. As he launches his final assault, Kokichi meets his end at Mahito’s hands.

Episode 8 of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is titled “The Shibuya Incident” and will premiere on Thursday, September 14 in Japan, followed by a worldwide release on Crunchyroll shortly after.
