The first of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls’ two championship trebles was completed over 30 years ago. Jordan wore the “Playoffs” Air Jordan 8, in the black and red colorway that had become his signature postseason flair, in the series against the Phoenix Suns. It would appear that preparations are being made to re-release the sneaker in time for its anniversary.
The “Playoffs” Jordan 8 may be returning in 2019 on September 2nd, according to J23app’s launch timetable. The Bulls’ first three-peat was celebrated 20 years ago in 2013, the year the sneaker was last released.
Photos of the suspected throwback have not yet surfaced, and Jordan Brand has not officially confirmed the release. In the following months, we will be posting updates, so stay tuned.
@zSneakerheadz reports that the “Playoffs” Air Jordan 8 will be available again on September 30 for $210.
