Starting with tomorrow’s engagement at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, NY, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have postponed all performances currently booked for September 2023, according to the statement. “Mr. Springsteen is being treated for symptoms of peptic ulcer disease, and the decision of his medical advisors is that he should postpone the remainder of his September shows.” After making that claim, it was reported that Springsteen apologized and promised to return.

“Over here on E Street, we’re heartbroken to have to postpone these shows,” the performer lamented. “First, I want to apologize to our amazing fans in Philadelphia that we neglected a few weeks ago. We’ll be right back to finish these and more shows. We appreciate your patience and kindness. Our recent performances in the United States have been fantastic, and we can’t wait for more fun times to come. We hope to return soon. The letter was signed, “Love and God bless all, Bruce.”

These rescheduling follow closely on the heels of two gigs that Springsteen had to postpone in Philadelphia on August 16 and 18 due to an undisclosed illness. The new dates for those shows are August 21 and 23, 2024. Since then, he’s been performing marathon three-hour gigs across the country, with the most recent being a run of events at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium from August 30 through September 3.
