Inflation has been slowing, so investors believe the Federal Reserve will not raise interest rates this week, sending stock futures higher to start the trading week.

Members of the Federal Reserve have agreed to hold off on raising interest rates at their upcoming meeting. Futures traders currently assign a 93% probability to the Fed maintaining the status quo on September 20.

How Much Percentage Increase in Tesla Stock Price?

A major call from Morgan Stanley upgrading the shares and predicting a huge rise ahead because of achievements with its autonomous software led to a 5% increase in Tesla’s stock price in premarket trading. Last week, all three major indexes had weekly losses.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite fell the most, by about 2%, as investors fled the market in anticipation of interest rate hikes.

After a spate of stronger-than-anticipated economic data points last week raised worries that the Federal Reserve will hike rates more than previously thought, investors are looking forward to critical inflation data in the week ahead.

The CPI and PPI data are released. Both are projected to rise due to rising energy prices, although investors are hoping for lower numbers.

On Thursday, September 14, we should get information on retail sales and on Friday, September 15 we will see the results of the Consumer Sentiment Survey conducted by the University of Michigan, both of which will provide light on the health of the economy and by extension, consumer spending.

Apple’s product presentation branded “Wonderlust” will take place on Tuesday, September 12 as well, where the firm is largely expected to reveal the iPhone 15.

Apple had a rough week and closed below its 50-day moving average as news spread that China would further restrict the use of iPhones by government organizations and state-owned businesses. That caused investors to worry that the largest stock in the S&P 500 was about to crash.
