Kinchens continued to lie on the ground and his colleagues promptly signalled for help. Players from both sides gathered around the 20-year-old as he received medical attention. Kinchens was eventually carried off the field after a considerable delay.
After several minutes, Kinchens was transferred to a stretcher and taken off the field. He was sent to Ryder Center. Head coach of the Miami Hurricanes Mario Cristobal stated that tests on Kinchens appeared to be relatively normal.
As he departed the field, Kinchens was awake and talking to the medical staff. Cristobal said:
“We’re going to head over there right after I get done with this press conference to see how he’s doing but it seems like we’re going to be fine.”
His family shared a picture of Kinchens from the hospital holding up a “U” and grinning on social media.
