Jessa (Duggar) Seewald is expecting their fifth child. After Duggar’s terrible miscarriage last year, she and her husband Ben Seewald announced on social media this past Saturday that they are expecting their fifth child.
“After a heartbreaking loss last year, we are so grateful God has blessed us with a rainbow baby,” Jessa, 30, posted on her Instagram Story on Saturday, linking to a video on her YouTube channel headlined “A Baby on the Way & Romantic Getaway!”
The expecting celebrity began the video, which showed a positive pregnancy test on a bathroom counter, by one again mentioning the “heartbreaking loss” the family had experienced the previous year. A new baby is on the way, and the reality star and her husband are overjoyed.
“Just this past week we found out some wonderful news that our rainbow baby is on the way and we could not be more excited,” she said. God is so nice,” and “We are very thankful for the gift of this lovely life,” were superimposed on the screen as she spoke. The rest of the April 2023 YouTube video followed Jessa and Ben, both 28, on a trip they took together.
One remarked, “Congratulations on your rainbow baby,” and another chimed in, “Congratulations! I’m thrilled to hear that you’re expecting a child. I hope and pray that you and your baby enjoy a smooth and trouble-free pregnancy and birth.
After suffering a miscarriage in 2020, Jessa finally gave birth to their fourth child, a daughter named Fern, in July 2021. “After the heartbreaking loss of a baby last year, we’re overjoyed to share that another little Seewald is on the way,” she and Ben wrote in a joint statement in February 2021.

Jessa and the baby are doing great, and the pregnancy is progressing normally. God has blessed us with the gift of life, and for that, we are eternally grateful.
“The kids are delighted, and we can hardly wait to welcome this little one into our arms this summer,” the parents said.
