Is HBO Going to Bring Back The Nevers Season 2?

HBO Max has pulled season 2 of The Nevers. This implies that after only one season, the HBO sci-fi drama will be cancelled. While Whedon was the show’s creator and executive producer, he was replaced as a showrunner by Philippa Goslett, Bernadette Caulfield, Ilene S. Landress, Doug Petrie, Jane Espenson, and others. As of November 2020, he had “genuinely exhausted” himself and decided to leave the endeavour.

A Comprehensive Overview of the Nevers

The Nevers

The events of The Nevers occur in London during the reign of Queen Victoria’s last few years. Those who have been “Touched” are a group of people, mostly women, who have developed mysterious abilities, some of which are endearing and others of which are frightening.

Penance Adair (Ann Skelly, Red Rock) and Amalia True (Laura Donnelly, Outlander) were both affected by the Touch. It is said in the show’s official synopsis that “They are the champions of this new underclass. To make way for individuals for whom history as we know it has no place, they create a haven for the Touched while fighting the forces of… well, pretty much all the forces.

In addition to Olivia Williams (Dollhouse) and James Norton (Grantchester) and Tom Riley (Da Vinci’s Demons) and Rochelle Neil (TV’s Das Boot) and Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) and Amy Manson (Once Upon a Time) and Pip Torrens (The Crown) and Denis O’Hare (American Horror Story) and Zackary Momoh (Seven Seconds).
