The famous American regional Mexican music band was the target of a brutal armed attack that ultimately claimed the life of one of its members. As they travelled along the Puebla-Orizaba highway on August 29, 2023, the popular American local Mexican music band Fuerza Regida was the target of an armed robbery. The tragic outcome of the incident was the loss of life. Let’s start with the history.
The band Fuerza Regida was leaving for a show in Cancun. The group has made waves in the music industry by having their song “Bebé dame,” a collaboration with Grupo Frontera, emerge on the Board’s Hot 100 chart.
On the treacherous Puebla-Orizaba route in the early morning hours of August 29, a truck affiliated with the Fuerza Regida security group became trapped by an armed commando. Because of a string of violent incidents, including burglary, assaults, and car accidents, this road has a bad reputation in Mexico.
Imagen del Golfo journalist Guillermo Carreón published photos of a bullet-riddled van, presumably the one in which the security force Fuerza Regida was travelling. The severely hurt renters went to the Rio Blanco Local Hospital in Veracruz for medical attention.
During the attack, sadly, one of the squad members was killed. An escort named Jorge Morales died from his wounds at the local hospital in Ro Blanco. According to reports, the security team comprised ex-members of the Mexican military.

The Investigation into the Attack on Fuerza Regida
There has been no explanation for the attack, although it is clear that Fuerza Regida was the intended target. The white Rural-style truck linked to the incident had bullet holes and smashed glass.
It appears the attackers may have targeted the security personnel. Also accompanying the truck was a trailer connected to the band.

In order to identify those responsible and determine what factors led to the attack on the security personnel, the office of the Attorney General, Veracruz State, has begun an extensive investigation into the incident. The tragic death of Jorge Morales was acknowledged in a statement from the company, which also assured employees that they were taking the situation seriously.
Why Exactly were ‘Fuerza Regida’ Members Taken into Custody?
After the event ended, an altercation was reportedly caught on camera and shared online in which JOP, Chino Pacas, and members of the Calle 24 band were imprisoned on a firearms accusation. It has been reported that early on Sunday morning, LAPD officers were attempting to maintain order in the Hollywood area between Hawthorn and La Brea avenues when they drew their firearms on a passenger in one of the cars they had stopped.
In addition, Chino Pacas posted a video on Instagram that appears to show him being thrown against a police car while handcuffed.
