A deep sense of grief has been left in Aurora, Illinois, as a result of the unexpected death of Michael Patrick “Hoss” McGivney on August 28, 2023, at the age of 21. Hoss was a treasured member of his community and had lived in this region for all of his life. He was born in Aurora, Illinois, on November 13, 2001, at the Rush-Copley Medical Center.

At the visitation that will take place on September 5, 2023, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, which is located at 44 S. Mill Street in Naperville, friends, family and acquaintances will have the opportunity to come together to pay their respects, offer their condolences and share memories of Hoss.
During this trying period, having the chance to think about the times and events that were experienced along with him can bring some measure of solace. The next day, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, which is located in Naperville at 36 N. Ellsworth St.
This solemn event will commemorate Hoss’s life and provide an opportunity for those who knew him to come together in the spirit of remembering and saying goodbye. Those who are struggling to come to terms with his death may find solace and support in the community’s outpouring of sympathy during this service.
Although the passing of Michael Patrick “Hoss” McGivney is a tragic incident that has cast a shadow on Aurora, the memory of Michael will continue to live on in the hearts and thoughts of those who had the honour of knowing him.
