Justified Primeval Season 2: Is This Series Going To Be Renewed?

Justified Primeval Season 2

Justified Primeval Season 2

It’s fair to say that the executive producer of City Primeval has given a mixed report on the show’s chances for a second season. The eight-episode resurrection of Justified, which picks up ten years after the original series ended, began on FX on July 18.

Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) is a U.S. Marshal who, after relocating from his hometown to Miami, is also trying to be a good father to his daughter, Vivian (Olyphant’s real-life daughter), who is 15 years old. Givens travels to Detroit, where he meets The Oklahoma Wildman, a ruthless outlaw played by Boyd Holbrook. A major twist at the end of the revival set the stage for a potential sequel.

Michael Dinner, executive producer and co-showrunner of Justified: City Primeval, spoke with TVLine about the possibility of a second season. The EP makes clear that the decision to produce a second season rests with FX. If it doesn’t happen, Dinner says, the creative team is “really good about where we ended.” See the cited text below:

“It’s up to FX — what they want to do, if they want to tell another chapter. If they don’t, then, you know, it was good to do this, and we feel really good about where we ended”.

Justified Primeval Season 2 Renewal

Although Justified: City Primeval was planned as an eight-part limited series, the revival’s success will determine whether or not the series will continue. During the recent Television Critics Association press tour, Michael Dinner discussed the show’s background. He recalled a conversation he had with the show’s lead, Timothy Olyphant, in which Olyphant mentioned adapting the novel City Primeval into an episode of Justified.

They saw this as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, notwithstanding the delays caused by the allocation of rights among several corporations. The project’s appeal was in the way it combined original character creation with known faces from the original source material.

Olyphant has previously stated his willingness to return for additional seasons. Speaking at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas, his excellent experiences and rapport with the team left the door open for his possible involvement in future initiatives. On August 30th, Hulu will debut the season finale of Justified, titled City Primeval. For more details on upcoming TV shows and movies you can join us on our Twitter account.
