Jim Scoutten was a well-known and esteemed name in the world of shooting sports. He was born in 1945 and the role of co-host of the well-liked Outdoor Channel television show “Shooting USA” made him most famous.
Over the course of his distinguished career, which lasted more than three decades, Jim was instrumental in covering and promoting a number of shooting sports disciplines. On July 18, 2023, he suddenly passed away at the age of 77, leaving the shooting sports community in sadness.

Jim Scoutten Obituary: An Enduring Tribute to Beloved Soul
Jim’s death was announced on a Facebook post shared via his official page alongside a picture.
His reason for death is still unknown. Jim Scoutten developed a sizable following as a result of his frequent appearances on The Outdoor Channel. When news of his passing spread, social media was swamped with tributes. One user wrote on Instagram, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Scoutten.”

Jim Scoutten’s first position was at All News Radio when he first entered the field of news reporting. He later went on to work as an anchor, reporter, producer and news director in numerous locations throughout the US. In the 1990s, Scoutten became well-known for his work as a special interest reporter.
In the past, he covered news stories on the motorsports sector and shooting sports. Jim went into production. American Shooter debuted in 1993, and the program eventually set records for viewers and fandom. He was well-known for hosting programs like Shooting USA and Sighting In with Shooting USA on the Outdoor Channel.
He also discussed the importance of preventing shooting events in schools. Jim claimed that the Faculty & Administrator Safety Training and Emergency Response program can be useful in preparing school authorities in the event of a shooting incident when speaking on a program on The Revolution in June 2022.
