On Thursday (31 Aug), after being accused of violating the strike guidelines set by the striking actors’ labor union SAG-AFTRA, singer-actress Selena Gomez removed an Instagram post in which she had tagged her hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
A video with the description “Missing and wanting @onlymurdershulu” purportedly showing Gomez on the set of the show was also shared online.
It is reported that during the strike, SAG-AFTRA members cannot promote their work through press interviews or social media posts. The story continues by saying that although Gomez did not specifically recommend the show to her followers, she did tag the official account of the series, so her fans naturally assumed the video was shot on the set. It’s still not clear if this constitutes a strike violation.
Only Murders in the Building Season 3 debuted on Hulu on August 8 and will continue to air weekly until October 3. The show stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Martin Short as well as three random people who become fast friends after discovering a body in their apartment complex and bonding over their mutual love of true crime podcasts. Gomez portrays Mabel Mora, as one of the three protagonists.
The second season of this 20th Television production received 17 nominations for Primetime Emmys and won three. Gomez in particular has a new single out called “Single Soon.”
