Even though Taylor Sheridan’s spy thriller series Special Ops: Lioness still has two episodes left in its first season, fans are already wondering if there will be a second season. The following is the most up-to-date information regarding the release of Season 2 of Special Ops: Lioness. To know details about Lioness Season 2 release date you need to scroll down the post.
Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 Release Date
Special Ops: Lioness season 2 has yet to receive a premiere date because Paramount Plus has not yet confirmed the show’s renewal. But the fans are optimistic. Season 1 was originally scheduled to premiere in 2020 on Paramount Plus, but it took three years to assemble the necessary cast and staff before production began in January 2023. The first season began in July 2023, following a name change in May 2023.
There is ‘fear’ and ‘doubt’ in the industry because of the 2023 Writers Strike and the Actors Strike, as stated by Zoe Saldaa in a podcast for Sky News. That doesn’t even take into account the fact that an ensemble cast like that would have their own packed schedules.
With this in mind, it’s tough to estimate when we could see Season 2 of Special Ops: Lioness. As soon as we have any information regarding when the exciting Paramount Plus show will return, we will update this guide accordingly.

What Will Special Ops: Lioness Season 2 Be About?
As season 1 of Special Ops: Lioness draws to a close, fans are left wondering where the show’s story will go in season 2. The direction the episodes have taken us in so far may provide some insight. What we’ve learned from the first season is that Joe has a hard time separating her professional and home lives. Despite having a family at home in the form of spouse Neal and daughter Kate, preserving the United States is her top priority.
For the CIA’s special operations unit, the war on terror has meant many missions during the first season, including one that was not authorized and put many members of the Lioness team at risk.
After the vehicle accident that seriously injured Kate, all of this occurred while Joe was in the hospital. Thankfully, the threat was neutralized and the team was redeemed, while Kate kept working to repair relations with her daughter.
We also know that Cruz has been enlisted to befriend Aaliyah, the daughter of a terrorist-affiliated millionaire businessman. As Cruz works her way deeper and deeper into Aaliyah’s life to gain access to her family, the lines between them begin to blur.
Season 1 isn’t quite over yet, so we’ll let you know when we get more information about what it means for Season 2.
Where Can I Find Season 2 of Special Ops: Lioness?
The first season of Special Ops: Lioness may be viewed online via Paramount Plus. Season 2 is probably going to
be very similar. The premieres of the first two episodes were followed by weekly drops for the remaining episodes. In addition to Yellowstone, Tulsa King, and 1923, Paramount Plus is the only home to the rest of Taylor Sheridan’s canon outside of the United States.
