American actor and comedian Lil Rel Howery performs stand-up comedy. In Chicago’s East Side at the Lion’s Den, he began performing stand-up comedy and on the reality series Last Comic Standing in January 2007, he made his television debut.
Up to the show’s 2013 cancellation, Howery and five other comedians co-starred in the 2012 Fox revival of the 1990s comedy series In Living Color.
Howery continued his career after that as a producer, writer and consistent cast member of the truTV sketch comedy series “Friends of the People.” Lil Rel is looking fit now and in this post you may read about his weight loss journey.
From Where Did Lil Rel Get Weight Loss Inspiration?
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on December 17, 1979. Howery is a tall man, standing at 5’6″. Howery claimed that the Amazon Prime film “I Did Brittany Runs A Marathon” served as the catalyst for his effort to shed weight. He published one of his workout images on July 24, 2020, with the caption:
“I been getting a lot of compliments for my weight loss but it’s a lot of hard work. I was motivated by the movie I did Brittany Runs A Marathon that’s on Amazon Prime if you haven’t seen it. Honestly just wanted to feel better and have more energy for all the films I shot last year. My advice is to do it for you and no one else. Go at your pace and do what works for you. Make it part of your lifestyle. But do you!!!!”

Lil Rel Howery’s Comedy Journey: From Stand-Up to Stardom
Howery started off doing stand-up in Chicago. In January 2007, he debuted television on the reality show Last Comic Standing. He appeared on HBO’s “P. Diddy Presents: The Bad Boys of Comedy” the same year. He participated in Chicago’s National Night Out Against Crime in 2009.
Howery and five other comedians appeared in the 2012 Fox revival of the sketch show In Living Color from the 1990s. The program was terminated in 2013. The truTV sketch comedy series “Friends of the People” later employed Howery as a writer, producer and a member of the regular cast.
Alongside the show’s creator, Jerrod Carmichael, he started co-starring as Bobby Carmichael on the NBC sitcom The Carmichael Show in 2015. “Kevin Hart Presents: Lil Rel: RELevent”, Howery’s first exclusive solo stand-up special, became available on Netflix in the United States in the beginning of 2016.
Howery received the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Award for “Best Comedic Performance” for his work in Jordan Peele’s satirical horror movie Get Out. Rel, a comedy with Howery in the title character and executive producers Jerrod Carmichael and Mike Scully was picked up by Fox on May 10.
Howery claimed that the show is based somewhat on his own life, especially his experience as a divorced parent. The show debuted on September 9, 2018. Ryan Reynolds and Howery both appeared in the comedy Free Guy. He portrayed the security guard Buddy.
