What is Ashlea Albertson’s Cause of Death?
According to an Indiana State Police Facebook post (provided below), Ashlea Albertson was a passenger in one of the two automobiles involved in the collision which occurred around 11:30 a.m. on northbound Interstate 65 in Jackson County, about an hour south of Indianapolis.
A 22-year-old was operating a Chevrolet Malibu in the right lane of I-65, while a 31-year-old was driving a GMC Terrain in the left lane. According to the authorities, Albertson was a passenger in the Terrain. The two drivers began accelerating rapidly and refused to let the other vehicle pass, according to police testimony.
The driver of the Terrain lost control as the Malibu started to pull into the Terrain’s lane causing the two cars to crash. When the automobile overturned, Albertson was ejected from it. After being taken to the hospital, Albertson was declared deceased.
The two drivers and a child passenger in the Malibu were all treated for non-life-threatening wounds at nearby hospitals. Ashlea’s father, Todd Albertson shared the news of her passing in a video on Facebook, saying that all she wanted to do was put on a show. Albertson said:
“She was a good kid, a better person, and she just loved racing. She loved the community and you all have done so much for her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
