Why are Artists Leaving Scooter Braun?

While none of them explained the reasoning for leaving, a 2019 Swift video may shed light on the matter. The August singer describes what Scooter Braun did that caused her to break up with him in the video that has lately gone viral.

He and Taylor Swift started fighting when Ithica Holdings acquired Big Machine Records and its assets. This featured Taylor Swift’s whole discography, igniting a conflict that has persisted ever since. Swift explains that she was flatly refused the chance to have her music purchased in the video that has gone popular on Twitter.

She claims that the Soros family, 23 Capital and the Carlisle Group allegedly provided funding for selling her entire collection to Braun’s company Ithica Holdings. You can watch the Taylor Swift clip provided below:

Braun had stated that he had no desire to defraud the affected musicians during an interview. He said:

“The regret I have there is that I made the assumption that everyone, once the deal was done, was going to have a conversation with me, see my intent, see my character and say Great, let’s be in business together. I made that assumption with people that I didn’t know.”
