Twitter (now named X) rapidly evolved after Elon Musk assumed control in October 2022. Musk has revolutionized the social media platform in numerous ways, including introducing the new Twitter Blue service and supporting longer tweets and videos. He has long planned to build X, the “everything app,” and has ambitious plans for the platform’s users beyond simple communication.
Recent rumors indicate that the billionaire has decided to scrub headlines from previously tweeted articles. This, it is said, is being done so that a user’s timeline may accommodate a greater number of tweets by decreasing the height of each individual tweet.
Musk’s Radical Idea for Headline-Free X
Musk is planning to stop including headlines in X news stories. Thousands of news stories are shared on Twitter every day, making it the platform’s users’ primary source of information. If this is implemented, the only thing that will show up when you share a link on X is an image with the URL superimposed over it. There won’t be any eye-catching headlines. In contrast, accessing the publisher’s website is merely a click away.
Musk proposed the move himself. According to the same information provider, this adjustment was made so that tweets would take up less vertical real estate on the user’s screen. This will increase the amount of content that can be displayed in a user’s timeline. Musk thinks this will also aid in the fight against clickbait.
Elon really wants that. “They tested it with advertisers, and they didn’t like it, but it’s going ahead,” the person said. Musk recently tweeted that publishing directly on the platform would provide journalists “more freedom and higher income.”
“If you’re a journalist who wants more freedom to write and a higher income, then publish directly on this platform,” he advised.

Twitter/ X CEO Musk Shatters Illusion of Outstanding Social Networks
However, in a Sunday post, the CEO of Twitter claimed that there are now no outstanding social networking platforms. On Twitter, Musk lamented, “The sad truth is that there are no great “social networks” right now.” However, he added that they are actively working on constructing one.

We may fail, as so many have predicted, but we will try our best to make there be at least one.

Musk’s decision to redesign Twitter as X was met with widespread backlash from users. They weren’t quite ready to say goodbye to the recognizable blue bird they’d grown to love over the years. Some even went so far as to say they expect the site to fail, with people abandoning it in droves.
Even though they may fail at establishing X, as many have prophesied, Musk acknowledged as much in a tweet by saying that they will attempt to make sure there is at least one (excellent social media network). We may fall short, as many have predicted, but he promised at least one would be created. The CEO of X, Linda Yaccarino, retweeted one of Musk’s posts with the words “There is an important place in the world for X.”
