The people in his group, like Tex Watson, did terrible things because Manson told them to. They hurt and k*lled some people, and one of them was a famous actress named Sharon Tate.
Tex Watson’s Story of Joining the Manson Family
Tex Watson was born in Dallas, Texas, on December 2, 1945. He grew up in a place called Copeville, which is close to Dallas. He was the youngest in his family, and he used to go to a local church when he was growing up.
When Tex was in school, he was really good at his studies, and he even became the editor of the school newspaper. He was also the leader of the American football team.
In 1964, he went to the University of North Texas in Denton. There, he joined a group of friends called Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
But in 1967, things changed for Tex. He went to Los Angeles and met a group called the Manson Family. He started being a part of this group that some people call a cult.

On August 9, 1969, Tex Watson, along with Patricia Krenwinkel and Susan Atkins, did something very bad. They hurt and k*lled pregnant actress Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger, and Steven Parent at a place called 10050 Cielo Drive in Los Angeles.
The next night, Tex Watson, Leslie Van Houten, and Patricia Krenwinkel went to another house in Los Feliz. They were involved in hurting and k*lling Leno and Rosemary LaBianca.
Tex Watson reportedly tried to hurt Rosemary by choking her, but she fought back and threw a lamp at Leslie Van Houten.
Leslie Van Houten is said to have held down Rosemary while Patricia Krenwinkel hurt her by stabbing her in the chest many times.
Meanwhile, Tex Watson had already hurt Leno by stabbing him many times while he was tied up in the living room. Leslie Van Houten also reportedly hurt Rosemary by stabbing her many times in her lower back and bottom area.

Where is Tex Watson Right Now?
Tex Watson is still in prison, and he has been there for a very long time. He is currently in a place called Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego, California. He has been in prison for 52 years, all the way up to July 2023.

Tex Watson tried to get out of prison in 2021, but they said no and didn’t let him go. They have said no to him 18 times since he first went to prison. On the other hand, another person from the Manson family, Leslie Van Houten, was released from prison on July 11, 2023.
