Does Kyle Tucker Have Illness?

On Aug. 18 Kyle Tucker was forced to withdraw from Friday’s game due to illness. Manager Dusty Baker revealed that Tucker’s illness would keep him out of Friday’s series-opening against the Mariners, even though Tucker now leads the American League with 92 RBIs.

Out of the Astros’ first 123 games, Tucker had started 120. He had made 116 starts in right field, where he had earned a Gold Glove the previous season. On Friday, Chas McCormick moved to right field from centre to replace Tucker, and Mauricio Dubón took over for him in the outfield.

Baker said, “We’re just hoping that this is a 24-hour thing.” He’s a large guy to be without for a while. We hope the best for him because, together with [Alex Bregman], he has been the most reliable member of the team.

Chas McCormick has moved to the right field since inserting Mauricio Dubon into the starting lineup at centre field. During the final two games of the Astros’ three-game series against the Marlins, Tucker went 4-for-9 with two home runs and four RBI. Take him on a day-to-day basis if necessary.
