A loved Hawaiian musician named Darren Benitez is said to have died on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the age of 57. Amy Hanaiali’i, a singer from Hawaii wrote on Facebook that the skilled musician had died.
What is the Reason Behind Darren Benitez’s Death?
On Friday, August 11, 2023, Benitez was supposed to play at the Bishop Museum’s Moonlight Mele event. On Thursday, August 10 night, Clifford Darren Benitez’s body was found in his room. One of Benitez’s friends told that he last talked to him early Tuesday, August 8, 2023 night.
Later that night, a neighbour told cops that he saw people going in and out of Benitez’s apartment and heard his car leave. A few hours later, his car was in an accident, but the driver took off. The Honolulu medical examiner’s office has done an autopsy, but the cause of Benitez’s death are not being made public yet.
This has led to many wild rumours online which was made worse when a social media user wrote in all caps if Benitez had been murdered. Fate Yanagi wrote on Twitter, “Excuse me Darren Benitez was MURDERED?!! This is just the worst week.”
The rumours grew stronger as the circumstances of the singer’s death stayed unclear. In answer to the tweet, however, someone else on social media said that the singer had been robbed and killed. Now, people are worried that the singer’s death was caused by foul play.

Hawaiian entertainer Darren Benitez got the Na Hoku Hano Hano award for Most Promising Artist for his first album, Broken Hearts in 1995. Benitez finished at Waianae High School in 1983. He was known for making traditional Hawaiian music which gave him a loyal fan base and the respect of his peers.
Benitez’s second record, Mother of the Sea came out in 1998. It got three more nominations for a Na Hoku Hano Hano award. It is said that the singer’s last record came out in 2008.
