Is Montel Williams Suffering From Any Disease?
There is currently no news about what happened to Montel Williams and it appears he is in good health. Montel Williams had a stroke while working out in a gym in New York City. He talked about it in an interview to raise knowledge about strokes and how to get better from them.
He was on his third round of dumbbell squats when he heard a sound and felt a wave of weariness that made the entire gym kaleidoscopic. When the side of his lips drooped and he started to drool, he knew he was having a stroke since he had recently watched an episode on the condition.
Williams returned to his room in the hotel and told his wife to call for medical help. Thankfully, he was close to a stroke unit, where doctors quickly identified a continuing stroke and administered the appropriate treatment to stop the bleeding.
Williams was hospitalized for 21 days. He spent the first several days in the intensive care unit (ICU) and was only partially conscious. Williams had a cerebellar stroke, a rare type of hemorrhagic stroke affecting the part of the brain that controls movement on the right side.
Williams thought he might die from the severity of his symptoms, but he got better and could talk again. Williams believes his stroke happened on its own, but there are many factors including Williams’s lifestyle and genetics, that might raise the risk of stroke.
