Asia Monet Ray is the eldest child of Kristie and Shawn Ray. In 2012, she took her first step into the dance industry by entering the first season of “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition” where she placed third.
When did Asia Monet Ray Leave the Series “Dance Moms”?
Abby Lee Miller invited Asia and her mother Kristie to join the top team at ALDC (Abby Lee Dance Company) for the third season of Dance Moms. This made Asia and Mackenzie competitive dynamic with each other.
Asia remained a team member of “Dance Moms” until the episode “The Big, Not So, Easy.” When Asia announced her intention to end her competitive dance career she and her mother decided to leave. Asia is currently devoted to her acting and singing careers. This may be the reason behind her leaving “Dance Moms”.
After ‘ Raising Asia ‘ was cancelled, the skilled dancer now focuses on an acting career. In the film “Sister Code”, she made her acting debut as a younger version of Amber Rose’s character, Lexi.
Asia then starred as “Jasmine Singh”, a little girl whose family was killed in a car accident in a two-episode arc that spanned the 12th and 13th seasons of ‘Grey’s Anatomy. Alongside Cuba Gooding Jr., she became more well-known in 2016 for her portrayal as Sydney Simpson, O. J. Simpson’s daughter in the FX drama.
Asia has tried her hand at singing in addition to her acting career. Several singles including “Come Along” and “Hey Girl” have been released under her stage name “Asia Monet”.
Even though Asia’s music career hasn’t gone as far as that of her former “Dance Moms” co-stars, she’s doing rather well for herself. She maintains a YouTube account where she posts her original songs and covers, ranging from Mariah Carey to Billie Eilish to Adele. She regularly interacts with her 1.7 million Instagram and 1 million TikTok followers.
