Toosii is a popular American hip-hop artist. His debut studio album, Poetic Pain peaked at number seventeen and his song “Favorite Song” became viral on TikTok.
Toosii’s real name is Nau’Jour Lazier Grainger and he was born on January 9, 2000. Originally from Syracuse, New York, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina when he was 13 years old.

Toosii’s Musical Journey: From Troubled Teen to Top Tier
In Raleigh, North Carolina, he committed himself fully to a career in music. Rap provided him with an outlet during his troubled adolescence. At 16, he began making records while juggling high school sports and trying to figure out his future.
His football buddies joked that he should go by “Toosii” since “You need two eyes to see the vision” which is where his stage name got its start. The South Coast Music Group which also represents Toosii’s fellow North Carolina rapper DaBaby made the discovery.
In 2019, he made a deal with the record company. Toosii’s brother and father were also musical influences and once he tried music for the first time, he became homeless. After releasing “Red Lights” in 2019 which has now racked up millions of streams, he finally found success.
On April 30, 2019, he dropped his Who Dat mixtape and on February 7, 2020, he dropped his Platinum Heart mixtape which featured 13 tracks. Upon its initial release, Platinum Heart topped Billboard’s Heatseekers Album chart.
The original 10-track mixtape was expanded to a 20-track deluxe release. Poetic Pain, his third album with South Coast Music Group was released on Capitol Records on September 18, 2020. After the premiere of his official video for “Love Cycle” with Summer Walker on September 30, Chris Turner (A&R) signed him to Capitol.
At the time of this release, Toosii had 50,000 adjusted sales in the United States and over 250 million combined global streams. Later, on January 11, 2021, the RIAA awarded “Love Cycle” the gold certification for sales exceeding 500,000 copies.
His collaboration with Summer Walker on “Love Cycle” is featured on his project Poetic Pain which debuted at number 17 in September 2020. Toosii’s sixth mixtape titled “Thank You for Believing” was released on May 7, 2021.
The title of the CD expresses appreciation for those who believed in him and helped him achieve this level of success. It features Mulatto, Key Glock and DaBaby and has a total of 13 songs. His inclusion on the XXL Freshman Class covers in 2021.
