Oscar Jack Piastri was born in Australia on April 6, 2001. He is a race car driver making a name for himself in Formula One with the McLaren team. In the racing world, what he has done is nothing short of amazing. In 2019, he drove for R-ace GP and won the Formula Renault Eurocup.
Then, with Prema Racing, he won the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2020 and the Formula 2 Championship in 2021. Notably, Piastri is only the sixth driver to win the GP2/Formula 2 Championship in their first year. He is also the fifth driver to win the GP3/Formula 3 Championship and the GP2/Formula 2 Championship in straight seasons.

Oscar Piastri had to leave the Belgian Grand Prix early because Carlos Sainz had an accident at Turn 1 on the first lap. Piastri tried to pass Sainz on the inside of the corner, but Sainz closed the gap. This caused Sainz’s Ferrari’s right side to get damaged, and Piastri’s car got much worse damage.

Piastri had no choice but to quit the race because of this. He tried to keep going for one more lap with new tires, but the damage was too bad, and he had to stop on the second lap, bringing out the yellow flags. Lando Norris, Piastri’s partner, also struggled with his car’s setup.

He was in 14th place with rugged tires and was dealing with too much downforce. On the other hand, Sainz had a 10% drop in his aerodynamic balance, which caused him to fall to 18th place in the ranks. There were reports that the Scuderia team might retire Sainz’s car, but at the time, nothing was official.
