The people of Clear Lake, Iowa, were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of 19-year-old Easton Devries on Friday, July 28, 2023. On June 24th, Easton was engaged in a terrible car accident that left him seriously injured; despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he passed away.

Easton Devries Accident: What Occurred?
The tragic event occurred on Saturday evening, June 24th, at about 7 o’clock. Easton was pedaling his bike through Clear Lake when he came to the crossroads of Bayside Avenue and Lee Street. He hit Diane Beth Knudson, 57, of Webster City, after he ran a stop sign and crashed into her 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe.
Easton was severely injured in the incident, and although help arrived quickly from Mason City and Clear Lake, it was not enough to save him. He required immediate medical attention, so he was taken to Mercy Hospital in Mason City. Over the course of more than a month, doctors did everything they could to save Easton’s life, but on July 28th, he finally gave up the fight.
Easton Devries’ death had a profound effect on not only his loved ones but on every one of Clear Lake. His infectious enthusiasm moved everyone who met him for life. This tragic event should serve as a sobering reminder of the significance of driving safely and obeying traffic laws.
