On a Saturday night, an automobile tragedy took the life of young Mountain Brook, Alabama resident Annabelle Mullican. The incident occurred at 5:27 p.m. on Cherokee Road, close to Overbrook Road.

Annabelle’s automobile was reportedly seen speeding and swerving on Old Leeds Road prior to the incident, before turning into Cherokee Road. Mountain Brook’s police chief, Jaye Loggins, corroborated these facts, and officers responded quickly after receiving the accident report.

They found a woman and two small girls with injuries at the scene of the crash. Three people needed medical attention, so paramedics rushed them there. Unfortunately, Annabelle’s injuries were so severe that she was pronounced dead at Children’s of Alabama at 6:20 p.m. the same day, despite everyone’s best efforts to save her.

The female driver, who may have been the legal guardian, was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries before being released. The Rocky Ridge Fire Department transported an injured toddler who had been wearing a seatbelt to Children’s of Alabama.

The neighborhood has united in its sympathy for the family’s loss. Sadness and unity in this trying time are being expressed via the sending of condolences.
