One of the BBC’s biggest unexpected blockbusters of 2022 was Sherwood Season 1. The six-episode series which was promoted as a real crἰme investigation instead focused on the red wall towns of Northern England which have yet to emotionally recover from Margaret Thatcher’s decision to end the miner’s strike in the 1980s and how those differences persist today.
There is a question in everyone’s mind about its sequel. In this post, we will discuss its second season.

Sherwood season 2 is ready for renewal but the release date is not yet confirmed. Lesley Manville and David Morrissey have confirmed that they will reprise their roles in the BBC drama Sherwood’s Season 2 under the direction of three-time BAFTA nominee Clio Barnard.
