The first trailer for Elio, Pixar’s next original film about a little kid who symbolizes all of Earth, has been released. On March 1, it will be released to the public, setting the stage for a story full of adventure and warmth.
In contrast to Pixar’s recent emphasis on sequels, this next release will mark the directorial debut of Adrian Molina, who is best known for his work on Coco and Lightyear. Pixar has released its twenty-eighth full-length picture, titled Elio. It’s being billed as a “space adventure comedy” with a positive takeaway for audiences.
Elio Release Date
Released on Friday, March 1, 2024, Elio is directed by Oscar winner and co-writer of Pixar’s Coco Adrian Molina and produced by Coco associate producer Mary Alice Drumm. Although an official home release date has not been announced, like most Disney films, the next Pixar film will likely become accessible to stream on Disney+ in the future.

Elio Plot: What will Happen?
It appears that Pixar has mastered the art of making us cry (we’re still not over Up’s opening sequence, to be honest), and that Elio will be no exception. Elio, our young protagonist, is snatched from obscurity to become Earth’s official speaker in an interplanetary senate, and his previously neglected home life is thrown into chaos as a result.
The species from all over the galaxy have mistaken Elio for Earth’s ambassador, and now it’s up to this quiet outsider to speak up for everyone in the Communiverse. Before his adventure is over, he will have to become a new person and an unlikely leader by making friends with odd new alien lifeforms and enduring a succession of ominous-sounding paths.
A new hero is brought out of his shell and into our hearts in what appears to be a heartwarming and humorous adventure called Elio, animated with Pixar’s signature attention to detail.
Who will be in Elio Cast?
Yonas Kibreab, 13, steals the show as Elio. Some fans may recognize Kibreab from his live-action roles in series like Sweet Tooth and Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars spin-off. Elio’s mother Olga, played by America Ferrera of Ugly Betty, Ambassador Questa, played by Jameela Jamil of The Good Place, and Ambassador Grigon, played by Brad Garrett of Everybody Loves Raymond round out the cast.

In the middle of June, we got our first glance at the movie poster for Elio, and shortly after that, we got to see the first teaser trailer. After meeting Elio as he tries to win his mother Olga’s attention, he is suddenly beamed up on a starship and compelled to give a speech to the entire Communiverse.
The first trailer for Elio may only be two minutes long, but it does a great job of showcasing the film’s warmth and wit.
