Finn and Jake’s story may be over in Adventure Time, but the show will continue with Fionna and Cake as the main characters. The series’ first episode will air at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Fionna will play a female version of Finn, and Cake will play a female version of Jake the Dog.
Even if you can’t go to the gathering, fans can now get a better look at the Adventure Time spin-off series thanks to a new trailer and release date. If you haven’t heard of Fionna and Cake before, they came about because of the Ice King and the massive amount of fan fiction he wrote in the original series.
In this new video, we see the two women when they were younger, which makes it seem like there will be a story about how they met. In this new spin-off, it’s clear that Fionna and Cake will be travelling across the multiverse, so it’s possible that other famous faces from the land of “Oo” will show up. The new series, which is scheduled to premiere on MAX on August 31st, seems to focus on Fionna and Cake in the world that existed before the events that led to the creation of Finn and Jake.
