Writing, “Today is the day that my boyfriend goes to the Emmy’s [sic] as a nominee for Best Supporting Actor and I am at home on my second load of laundry,” she joked, “Just to confirm, my boyfriend is Kenan Thompson off of SNL.”
Rylance took to Twitter shortly after Goldstein had received his Grammy to express her delight in Goldstein’s success:
“My godmother has just text [sic] me to say congratulations on my boyfriend’s Grammy award and this is why I love her.”
Rylance routinely uploaded short comedic skits featuring Goldstein online during the UK’s pandemic lockdown. So this speech is going to be f-king short,” Goldstein said in character at the Emmys. I was given a stern warning that I was not to use profanity under any circumstance. So, uh…”, followed by a torrent of cuss words.
Jason Sudeikis, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, is not only the show’s creator but also a co-writer on the show.
Including Outstanding Comedy Series, “Ted Lasso” won four Emmys in total. The actress who plays Rebecca, Hannah Waddingham, also won for her performance in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
