The new Apple TV show Platonic features one of the most heartwarming depictions of friendship in recent memory on the small screen. The show has a respectable replay value despite its lack of originality because of the many heartwarming tales of friendship, love, and mutual understanding that are told in each of the 30-minute episodes.
Platonic is a show created by Nicholas Stoller and Francesca Delbanco about two people who have known each other for a long time and have recently reconnected. Then let’s compile what we know about Platonic Season 2 of the upcoming Apple TV+ series beginning with the most important question of all: will there be a Platonic Season 2?
When Can We Expect to See Platonic Season 2?
So, let’s assume it is renewed. When can we expect to receive it? As an illustration, I’ll use Trying, a comedy available exclusively on Apple TV+. Since 2020, the show has released new seasons on a roughly yearly schedule. A second season of Platonic could premiere as soon as May 2024.
Mythic Quest, another show on Apple TV+, has been slightly less reliable in terms of monthly releases but has nevertheless managed to release a new season every year. While Dickinson played two full seasons in 2021 and one in 2019, Ted Lasso did not play at all in 2022. Predicting these kinds of things for streaming networks is annoying. It probably annoys me as much as the individuals who create these shows.

Keep in mind that the new seasons of any show will be affected by the ongoing strike by the Writer’s Guild of America because the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers has refused to meet or even counter their demands for better pay, job security, working conditions, etc.
It is hoped that the Hollywood producers will terminate their strike as soon as possible and that Apple TV+ will have faith enough in Platonic to renew it during the strike.

Is there going to be a Platonic Season 2?
It has not been renewed as of the premiere of Season 1. Only Servant, For All Mankind, Mythic Quest, and Trying have been renewed for Season 4 on Apple TV+ so far, but the streaming service is generally generous in allowing its original content to last longer than two seasons, especially comedies. Only dramas have survived cancellation after a single season. There is no more information available about the renewal of Platonic Season 2. The Season 1 is premiering now.
