Season 3 of The Witcher is now available to watch on Netflix, after an absence of over two years. Henry Cavill’s final performance as the brooding brute Geralt, the titular Witcher, makes this an especially melancholy occasion. We may or may not remain around while Liam Hemsworth takes charge moving ahead.
Fans have also noticed that the actor portraying Ciri has changed their appearance since the show’s first season. Did they also use a ruse on her? Who plays Ciri in The Witcher, and how come Henry Cavill can’t just force his way back into the series as Superman? We know he’s capable because we’ve seen his arms.
Who is Playing Ciri in ‘The Witcher’?
British actor Freya Allan plays Ciri, and if this performance is any indication, she’s more of a shooting star than a rising star. The performer has only appeared in a small number of films, but she more than held her own in the epic fantasy series.
Freya was asked about her childhood acting inspirations in an interview with IGV alongside co-stars Anya Chalotra (Yennefer) and Joey Batey (Jaskier). Anya wasn’t quite right in identifying Jennifer Lawrence as the star of The Hunger Games films. As for the actors, she said, “The cast I was obsessed with was Harry Potter,” and added that Emma Watson attended her institution. Production on The Witcher Season 4 should be well underway, if not completed, by that time.
Take a look at the below tweet in which Freya Allan is training ice skating for her role in The Witcher Season 3:

NCT’s Jaehyun is going to debut in his first movie You’ll Die in 6 Hours. Read out more details we have covered about it:
What Happened to the Original Actor that Played Ciri?
Freya has played Ciri throughout all three seasons, despite dramatically altering her appearance. She was presumably 20 when filming Season 3, yet she was only 16 when the first season aired. Freya mentioned how young she was at the start of the episode while conversing with Netflix’s Tudum. “It was a bit jarring — me being on screen when I was growing up as myself alongside Ciri,” she remarked. To quote the speaker: “But now I feel more at peace.”
The second major change is Ciri’s own tremendous development. She was a sneaky princess who liked to hang out with the other kids in the town during the first season. She had never known anything but safety and security, and she had no idea what the future held.
If Season 3 is any indication, Ciri is maturing and letting go of the remnants of her adolescence. Because of Ciri’s “real emotional journey” and “some real development,” Freya told Tudum, “it was fun getting to approach a lot of the scenes this season.” At the start of that season, she is still experiencing the emotions of a young teenager. At the conclusion, she seems much more mature.
