Rocco Benito Commisso is an Italian-American actor, businessman, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Mediacom is born on 25 November 1949. He owned the company in 2011. Before this, he worked in companies like Cablevision, the Royal Bank of Canada, and Chase Manhattan Bank. In 2017 he owned New York Cosmos, and in 2019, he become the owner of the football club ACF Fiorentina.
Though he was born in Calabria, he moved to the United States when he was 12. He completes his study at Mount Saint Michael Academy high school in the Bronx and then enters Columbia University to get a full undergraduate scholarship.
He complete his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering in 1971 from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Commisso starts his career at Pfizer Inc. Then he starts working at Chase Manhattan Bank, later Royal Bank of Canada. From 1986 to 1995, he worked as Executive Vice President.
Commisso public Mediacom in 2000. Slowly the company became the 8th largest cable company, which is owned by Commisso in 2011.
Columbia University Lons football team was joined by Commisso from 1967 to 1970. He is three All-Ivy League Honouree. In 1970 he become the caption of the team while Columbia appear in the NCAA men’s soccer tournament for the first time.
He joins as Chairmen of Friends of Columbia soccer in 1978. In 2017 he purchased New York Cosmos Club and become the chairman. He get popularity when he purchased ACF Fiorentina in 2019, estimated at $150 to 200 million.
Columbia University listed him among the 250 greatest alumni of the time in 2004, as he was getting recognition as a Select Distinguished Alumni. Commisso married Cathrine and the couple have two children who recently lived in Saddle River, New Jersey.
