What We Do in the Shadows has been officially picked up for a fifth season. But that’s not all. Fans were so hungry for more blood that a sixth season was announced. FX Entertainment president Nick Grad said in a statement in July 2022, “Our favourite vampires from Staten Island still have a lot to offer, and we couldn’t be happier to commit to two more seasons of this amazing show.”
To remind you, the mockumentary series follows immortal friends Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, and Colin as they deal with the modern world in Staten Island with the help of their human familiar, Guillermo.

What We Do In The Shadows Season 5 Plot:
In the last episode of Season 4, Nandor once again stopped Guillermo from becoming a vampire. But the familiar took things into his own hands and made a deal with his friend Derek to turn him in for a suitcase full of money that had been stolen.
The fifth season will show how Guillermo changes while Nandor, Lazlo, and the other characters become more suspicious. The official summary for season five says, “Nandor feels like Guillermo is slipping away because he seems to be spending a lot more time with Laszlo.
As a gentleman scientist, Laszlo’s skills are tested as he tries to figure out why Guillermo is changing in such a strange and secret way.”Nadja, who has been hurt by a supernatural curse that hasn’t been found yet, gets back in touch with her family, or at least a family, from the Old Country.
Colin follows in the footsteps of other energy vampires by running for office, and The Guide tries to figure out where she fits in this tight-knit group. Paul Simms, the show’s executive producer, told Entertainment Tonight about Guillermo’s “rash” choice to turn: “I think the biggest thing from the finale is that Guillermo made such a rash and maybe ill-thought-out decision.
That’s going to have huge effects.” He then talked about how he had always wanted to be a creature of the night. “It was the first in the first five minutes of the pilot,” he said. Guillermo wanted to be a vampire, so that was the story.
But if this show has a message, it’s probably “Be careful what you wish for.”It happened physically with Nandor this season, but it’s also an essential part of the show. So, the stuff with Guillermo is going to be very funny.” In season four, Guillermo also goes to see his family, and Simms says they’ll all get together again in season five.
“In season five, we have an excellent episode where we’ll see Guillermo with his family again,” he said, adding that they’re “always expanding and opening” the world fans have seen glimpses of from season to season.
