To kick off his acting career, NCT’s Jaehyun will star in the upcoming mystery-thriller “You’ll Die in 6 Hours.” SM Entertainment confirmed the 26-year-old South Korean singer-songwriter’s role as the film’s protagonist.
Jaehyun will play the character of Junwoo, a guy with the unique capacity to foresee the deἀth of others. The film is based on the same-titled novel by Kazuaki Takano, a veteran Japanese author who is a member of the Mystery Writers of Japan and is well-known for his works in the crime-fiction and thriller genres.

Not more than a week has passed since actor Jaehyun’s first debut anniversary, and already he’s making his cinematic debut in a mystery/thriller drama. The 2021 K-drama “Dear M” will be Jaehyun’s first acting role, while the 2022 film “You’ll Die in 6 Hours” will be his first lead role. The drama adaptation of “Bungee Jumping of Their Own,” in which he was cast, was ultimately scrapped.
In 2016, he made his SM Entertainment debut alongside the rest of NCT, NCT U, and NCT 127 as a member of the NCT mega group. This isn’t the first time that a film version of a novel by Takano has been made.
The Japanese TV movie adaption “6 Jikango ni kimi wa shinu” (“You will die six hours later”) starred Takashi Tsukamoto, Yôko Maki, and the late Takeshi Katô in 2008.

The plot revolves around Keishi, a self-proclaimed seer who claims to be able to predict the future through some sort of supernatural means. The official summary reads:
“He meets Mio, then the victim of an unidentified stalker, and together they end up solving a murder mystery in their area.”
The release date, official narrative information, and the identities of Jaehyun’s co-stars in the upcoming “You’ll Die in 6 Hours” adaption will be announced at a later time.
