Buddy Matthews is a well-known figure in the professional wrestling world. Anyone who has been paying attention to the sport for some time will be familiar with him.
Matthews was born in 1988 in Melbourne, Australia and his real name is Matthew Adams. With Professional Championship Wrestling and Melbourne City Wrestling, he started his career. Matthews did however gain a following as a promising pro wrestler during his tenure with WWE.
Matthews is currently employed for AEW. He was let go by WWE in June 2021 and in November of that same year at Battle in the Valley, he made his NJPW debut. On the Dynamite episode from February 23, 2022, he made his official AEW debut.
After his debut, AEW President Tony Khan made the signing official. Matthews recently faced Orange Cassidy on Dynamite for the AEW International Championship with Cassidy winning the match and successfully retaining his title. Despite losing the championship, Matthews gave a respectable performance against Cassidy.
