She should be buried in the sunshine, not your mother’s ashes. During Pink’s headlining set at the British Summer Time event in London over the weekend, a fan threw a bag containing their mother’s ashes onto the stage, leaving the singer speechless.
In a video posted on Twitter on Monday (26 June), a witness named Pink can be seen asking while picking up a small bag containing the cremated ashes. Pink said, with a look of amazement on her face, “I don’t know how I feel about this,” before stumbling to her feet and setting the ashes at the stage’s edge.
Behind a speaker, the pop artist was also seen shaking her hands as if to sanitize them before continuing to perform “Just Like a Pill” while maintaining her stunned expression. Pink was the recipient of someone’s mother’s cremains. The video was captioned, “I need y’all to have boundaries like girl what!”

Another Twitter user claimed to know the background behind the ash throwing, writing:
“OK so my friends were stood [sic] near this lady and back story is..her mum couldn’t get out much as she was so ill when alive so this lady takes her ashes places.
“So she get out now it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but if it gives this woman comfort then that’s up to her. Not for me tho.”

So she should get out, and if that makes her feel better, more power to her. Actually, no thanks. Many other internet users commented on the video, discussing their reactions to the shocking event. I now see why certain celebrities are so distant: “She handled it well because I’d definitely be mad if someone handed me their mom’s ashes.”
One of Pink’s fans quipped, referencing the song Pink was performing at the time, “I’m so sorry, I lost it when she was singing ‘can’t stay on your life support’ while putting the ashes down.”
“I feel like security at a concert will be like going thru TSA if people don’t stop being WEIRD,” added another.

It was the latest in a string of disturbing incidents in which audience members threw objects onto the stage. Last week, during Bebe Rexha’s show in New York City, an inconsiderate fan threw their phone at the singer. But things went downhill when the phone hit her in the eye, forcing her to cut short her performance and head to the emergency room, where she required multiple stitches.
