Cowen grew up with her brother, Dawson on a farm. First, she learn acting lessons and then entered Ovideo High School, where she contributed as an athlete. Then she join the University of Florida to learn public relations, Cowen shifted to Los Angeles, California, in 2016, to focus on her acting career. Her character as Fiona she also reprise in the film Witch Hunt.
When talked about her character in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, she said that this character gave her many challenges and she proved herself in some way. She also appeared in Angel in Redeeming Love.

On 2 October 2021, Abby posted an image with her boyfriend Danny. That same day Griffin also shared a picture tagging Abigail. The next day The Winx Saga actor posted an image with his girlfriend and wrote “signing off.”
