However, a year and a half after announcing the creation of “Studio 54: American Crἰme Story,” FX Chairman John Landgraf stated that the series is currently in the works.

What did FX Chairman John Landgraf Say about American Crἰme Story Season 4?
At the Television Critics Association 2023 winter press tour on Thursday, June 22, 2023, FX Chairman John Landgraf provided various updates on a few well-known programs, including “American Crἰme Story” Season 4, “American Sports Story” and “Alien” assuring that the projects are still in development but progressing.
“On ‘American Crἰme Story’ we haven’t designated a subsequent successor or season, We have other things in development, but we haven’t landed on one of them and said, ‘Yes, this is going to be the fourth season of ‘American Crἰme Story.’”
Landgraf refuses to comment on “American Crἰme Story” Season 4’s focus which was previously said to be on the history of Studio 54, but the chairman does say the show is “headed towards production.”
The show will follow club owners Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager in 2021 after they successfully turned their large city disco into an iconic component of nightlife following three years of expensive parties, music, s*x and drug use.
The FX president revealed that Noah Hawley’s “Alien” will soon start pre-production once Hawley completes the fifth season of “Fargo.” The script, written by Hawley is finished.
The scripts for an upcoming season of “American Sports Story” are basically complete, according to Landgraf. He said, “Although we haven’t set a date for its appearance, production is underway.”

2020 saw the initial announcement of the series. Landgraf characterized the series at the time as “the first ‘Alien’ story set on Earth and by blending both the timeless horror of the first ‘Alien’ film with the non-stop action of the second, it’s going to be a scary thrill ride that will blow people back in their seats. Executive producing the show is Hawley under his 26 Keys label.
