This is hard.
Coach Price was, and always will be one of the most impactful people on my life. He truly coached to create strong young men, and led people in a way that is beyond explanation. I am so thankful to God that I was coached by him.
I will always miss you coach.❤️— Max Wright (@maxwright2k18) June 23, 2023
Off the field, Price was well renowned for both his outgoing demeanor and his barbecue prowess. Each year, he ran the smokers for his D-line BBQ. As a renowned recruiter, Price signed and led players at Texas A&M like Justin Madubuike, DeMarvin Leal and Myles Garrett, who later went on to be selected first overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He worked with Quentin Groves, the Tigers’ all-time sacks leader at Auburn. With Price’s assistance, Texas A&M finished the 2020 season ranked No. 4 and led the SEC in defense finishing third nationally in rush defense.
Price was recruited by Jackie Sherrill and R.C. Slocum, his defensive coordinator out of the Dallas area. He played for both head coaches and was chosen for the All-Southwest Conference his senior year. After serving in the NFL for two years, Price returned to A&M in 1992 and assisted Slocum with his graduate work as he pursued his degree.
