Clint Eastwood’s The Mule is a 2018 film that is based on the life of Leo Sharp, a World War II veteran who, in his 80s, began working as a drυg courier for a Mexican gang. Despite having been in theaters for five years, the movie’s June 2018 debut on Netflix has caused quite a stir.
Eastwood plays Earl Stone, a botanist and Korean War veteran who, via a sequence of unfortunate events, finds up carrying cocaine for a Mexican gang. Soon enough, Earl catches the eye of a dogged DEA agent called Colin Bates (Bradley Cooper), who is desperate to shut down the business.
Given the age of Clint Eastwood’s character and the dire circumstances he finds himself in, it’s fair that viewers are concerned about whether or not his character makes it through the events of the film.
Does Clint Eastwood’s Character in The Mule meet an Untimely End?
The Mule does not end with the deἀth of Clint Eastwood’s character. At the end of the movie, Earl is arrested for his crimes and given a prisón sentence. Earl is shown tending to the prison gardens after his punishment, and it is implied that he would spend the remainder of his life there for his role in the drυg operation.
Like Earl, the film’s inspiration, Leo Sharp, was caught and sentenced to prisón for his crimes. However, Leo’s fatal sickness led to his early release from prisón, and he pἀssed away about a year later. The Mule doesn’t show it, but if the story had continued after Earl’s conviction, the hero probably would have met the same fate. What happens to Earl, however, is left up to the discretion of the viewing public.

Is Clint Eastwood Deἀd or Alive?
The debut of The Mule on Netflix has raised several issues among viewers, including whether or not the film’s star, Cline Eastwood, is still alive. Eastwood just celebrated his 93rd birthday on May 31st, in case you were worried about him after viewing the movie in which he plays a weak figure that fans are accustomed to seeing him portray.
It’s no surprise that Eastwood has scaled back his acting commitments in recent years, with The Mule being one of his last films. Eastwood has only starred in one film since The Mule, 2021’s Cry Macho.
Where did they Shoot The Mule?
Georgia was used for filming, especially in Atlanta, Rome, and Augusta for The Mule. New Mexico’s Las Cruces served as the location for some additional filming.
Although Eastwood filmed Richard Jewell and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil in Georgia, this is the first picture he has directed entirely there. Eastwood spent two weeks filming at the Sunshine Gardens on Lumpkin Park Drive for The Mule. The gardens are a daylily farm in Augusta, Georgia.
