On Sunday, June 11, a motorbike carrying two Butler County men c0llided with a pickup vehicle on North Washington Street in Eau Claire killing both drivers.

According to state police, Zachary J. McGregor of West Sunbury and Caleb A. Kiely of Petrolia dἰed as a result of injμries sustained in the c0llision. The incἰdent happened at 5:57 p.m. while McGregor and Kiely were traveling.

McGregor lost control of the motorcycle causing it to tip over and slide into the northbound lane. The Ram 2500 pickup was being driven by Jodi M. Miller of Emlenton when the motorcyclist struck it.

Emlenton declared McGregor and Kiely deceἀsed at the spot. Reports state that Miller was hurt but wasn’t transported to the hospital. Social media was flooded with messages of sympathy for the McGregor and Kiely families.

They attended Moniteau High School together according to Kaici McBride who claimed to have known Kiely for 15 years. She told that Kiely was a wonderful friend, coworker, brother, son and grandson.

She added:

“He was generous, often going above to assist whomever he could. He was very funny, creating jokes out of anything to get people to laugh even when the timing wasn’t right.”

Fire and rescue crews from Emlenton and Eau Claire reacted to the c0llision, closing off the street and directing traffic.

Caleb Kiely was a well-liked local resident who was active in a number of academic and professional endeavors. He attended PennWest California and attended Moniteau Junior-Senior High School before graduating. The sudden pἀssing of Kiely who had a promising future ahead of him has left a vacuum in the lives of those who knew him.

Caleb Kiely was adored by his loved ones, friends and coworkers. He was a cherished part of the community. His work as a Project Analyst at UPMC demonstrated his devotion and dedication. His coworkers recall him as a gifted person with a sharp eye for detail and a love of his job.

The motorcycle’s rider, Zachary McGregor was a respected member of the neighborhood. Even though there is less information on his personal and professional life, his terrἰble depἀrture serves as a reminder of how fleeting life is and how crucial it is to cherish every second.
