The entire official trailer for the new animated Netflix series “Skull Island” debuted today, and it’s a monster mash of epic proportions that’s sure to pique your interest in the show. Assorted Monsters, Ruled by One. Legendary Television’s brand-new animated series will premiere worldwide on Netflix on June 22.
In “Skull Island,” viewers are taken on a thrilling adventure as a group of heroic explorers save Annie (Mae Whitman) from drowning, not realizing that their heroic actions will bring them to the dangerous Skull Island. Strange animals and terrible beasts, such as the enormous behemoth Kong, make their home in this mysterious region.
The voice of Charlie is provided by Nicolas Cantu (Dragons Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Sky, The Fabelmans), who is part of the show’s amazing ensemble cast. Mae Whitman (Family Guy, DC Super Hero Girls), Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever, Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles), Benjamin Bratt (Poker Face, Coco), and Betty Gilpin (Mrs. Davis, Glow) provide their voices as Annie, Mike, Cap, and Irene, respectively. They begin on an exciting trip together, bringing these colorful personalities to life.

Brian Duffield (Cocaine Bear, Love and Monsters) is the show’s creator, writer, and executive producer. Besides Jacob Robinson and Thomas Tull, executive producers include Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers, and Brad Graeber. The animation is made professionally by Powerhouse Animation, known for their work on popular shows like “Castlevania” and “Blood of Zeus.”
From Godzilla (2014) through Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021), the Monsterverse has come a long way.
