We honor Shirley Stolp’s legacy because she was a remarkable woman who had a profound impact on our lives. It all started for Shirley on December 14, 1960, when she was just a newborn and was taken to an orphanage in Osaka, Japan. Fate, however, had other ideas.
Shirley and her brother Ken were adopted by Haidie and Shigeko Hirai, a Japanese American couple living in Quincy, Washington, when Shirley was two years old, in 1963. From then on, Shirley lived an astonishing life that changed the world and the people in it forever.
In 2023, on April 16th, Shirley Stolp pἀssed away. Shirley Stolp’s deἀth was a blow to her friends and family. Haidie and Shigeko Hirai, Shirley’s parents, were reportedly on their way to meet their end, leaving Shirley and her partner Douglas Stolp and brother Ken Hirai behind.
On December 14, 1960, in the city of Osaka, Japan, Shirley Stolp entered the world. She was sent to an orphanage soon after her birth.
Shirley’s life took a dramatic change in 1963 when she was adopted by Haidie and Shigeko Hirai, a doting Japanese-American couple living in the Washington town of Quincy. Shirley started a new chapter in her life in the United States alongside her adopted brother Ken.
