Taylor Lautner discusses whether or not he would be open to reprising his role as Jacob in a future Twilight film. When the Stephenie Meyer novel series that inspired Twilight made the transition to the big screen in 2008, it was an instant smash with young adults. Bella Swan, a teenage girl, falls for Edward Cullen, a mysterious vampire, in each of the five films in the Twilight trilogy.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, who played werewolf Jacob Black, all became household names thanks to their roles in the series.
Since these three protagonists were involved in a highly dramatic love triangle, one of the most heated cultural debates of the 2010s has centered on whether or not audiences were more on “Team Edward” or “Team Jacob” when it came to deciding who they thought Bella should end up with.
Given the series’ massive popularity, the actors are frequently asked if they would be willing to reprise their roles, and Lautner has now given his opinion on the matter.
Lautner was asked by E! News if he would be interested in coming back, and he responded with cautious optimism. The actor stated that he would “never say no” to reprising his role of Jacob because he is a “good character.” The actor continued his warm remark by saying that he thinks Jacob is a “lovable guy.” Read the whole of Lautner’s words down below:
“He’s a good character that is easy to love, so I would never say no to that, because it’s Jacob Black. He’s a lovable guy.”
When asked what he imagined Jacob would be doing 10 years after the events of the Twilight films, Lautner said he thinks Jacob is living out his “happy ever after with Renesmee.”
Since the series’ dramatic finale with 2012’s Breaking Dawn: Part 2, Lautner and his fellow Twilight actors have each gone on to star in a number of critically acclaimed films. It would be reasonable to expect that Pattinson and Stewart would have moved on from their breakout roles by now, but they have both said that they wouldn’t rule out a return to Edward and Bella in the future.

The fact that Lautner has now confirmed he would be open to returning to the series should make many Twilight fans very happy. In this era of legacy sequels, it seems certain that the concept of revisiting the Twilight franchise has at least been discussed, even if no formal plans have been confirmed.
Audiences are anxious for a return to Forks, and Lautner’s comments may be the spark needed to get the ball rolling on this long-awaited Twilight revival.
