Since Eloise and Bridget’s friendship has reached its breaking point, season 3 of Bridgerton has been announced, and the ideal Penelope replacement already exists. Eloise finally figured out that Penelope was Lady Whistledown at the end of season 2.
Lady Whistledown was the mysterious antagonist responsible for a number of unfortunate events for the Bridgerton family. At the end of season 2, Eloise and Penelope were visibly hurting from the loss of their best friend after the revelation drove a wedge between them. It’s possible that Eloise and Penelope can reconcile their differences, but it’s not necessary because Eloise will soon have a new closest friend in Bridgerton Season 3.
Eloise Bridgerton is an outcast in her society because she doesn’t care about the constraints placed on women by the debutant season, despite the fact that she is a member of the upper class.
Despite the fact that Penelope wants to be a part of this world despite its imperfections, she refrains from expressing Eloise how much she disagrees with her. While Penelope is disregarded and relegated to the role of a fly on the wall during debutant season, Eloise, possibly the best Bridgerton character, might play a significant role in it if she so desired.
Penelope and Eloise were wonderful friends and supporters of each other despite their differences; however, their friendship has since ended, and Kate Sharma is the ideal Penelope substitute for Eloise.
Eloise and Kate’s Friendship in Bridgerton
In season three, Eloise will need a new friend to hang out with and Kate is a great pick to replace Penelope Bridgerton. Kate and Eloise’s similarities in intelligence and interests were briefly demonstrated in Season 2.
Both of them desire more out of life than what the debutant season and their society have to give, and they are both defiant and indifferent to the opinions of others. While Penelope and Eloise may have had a harmonious relationship, Kate and Eloise would be the best of friends because they would never stand in each other’s way.
The melancholy nature of Eloise’s friendship with Benedict stems from the fact that she is marginalized by society and her own family for desiring equal rights with males. Eloise needs Kate’s companionship to prove that she is more than the family outcast. If Kate were to take Penelope’s place, Eloise would finally have someone in the Bridgerton elite who shares her interests and worldview.
While Eloise has discovered some kindred spirits among the women’s rights activists and Theo, she is nonetheless socially isolated from them because of her class. Theo and Eloise’s social differences made it impossible for their relationship to progress.

Bridgerton’s Season 3 Changes Highlight This Penelope Change
Due to the drastic shift in tone that Bridgerton’s third season represents, it’s even more crucial that Eloise find a new friend and confidante. Seasons one and two of the show were inspired by Julia Quinn’s novels about the Bridgerton children.
It makes it reasonable that Eloise would remain in the social orbit of Colin and Penelope throughout the social season, given that the show is moving its focus to them and pushing Benedict to the background for another season. Therefore, she requires a friend, or perhaps a protector.
Daphne, her older sister and a source of wisdom during the social season will not be making an appearance in season 3. Daphne, who has relocated to a sprawling estate with her new husband and baby, is understandably less active in the social season than her siblings.
