The neurological condition stiff-person syndrome is uncommon and progressive. Muscle stiffness in the arms, legs and trunk are possible symptoms. Stiff person syndrome is very rare. Moukheiber said, the syndrome affects one in a million persons and the majority of general neurologists only witness one or two cases throughout their lifetimes.

Celine Dion is affected by stiff person syndrome. Singer has postponed her “Courage World Tour” dates through 2024 due to complications from stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological ailment that causes spasms and muscle rigidity, the celebrity announced on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Dion delayed a number of her performances in December after discovering the cause of her musculoskeletal pain and mobility issues. At the time, Dion stated:
“While we’re still studying about this uncommon ailment, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been suffering.”
She receives physical treatment every day, but she is in a lot of pain. Dion said about the tour’s cancellation:
I’m very sorry to disappoint all of you once again. Even when you’re 100% healthy, touring can be really challenging, so I’m working extremely hard to regain my strength.
She continued:
“It’s not fair to you to keep canceling the events and even if it pains me to do so, it’s essential that we do so right away until I’m truly prepared to return to the stage. I want everyone to know that I won’t give up and I’m eager to see you once more.”
