11 days after going missing and just days after his wife’s pἀssing, a U.S. Army soldier was discovered alive. The 704th Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Company’s Spc. Craig Chamberlain had been gone for two weeks while stationed at Fort Cavazos, previously Fort Hood, in Killeen.
He was reported missing on May 15 and located on Friday, May 26, 2023. Lt. Col. Zachary Brainard, commander of the 2nd Chemical Battalion, said in a statement:
“We appreciate that Specialist Chamberlain has been located and we’ll keep giving him the support and attention he requires. Additionally, we will keep working with CID as they carry out a careful examination of this incident.”
No other details were disclosed. The Army also announced on Friday, May 26, 2023, that Cameron Chamberlain, Chamberlain’s wife had pἀssed away.
Her reason for deἀth and if it was connected to her husband’s abdμction is still unknown. In a statement, the Army said:
“The pἀssing of Cameron Chamberlain, the wife of Army Spc. Craig Chamberlain has severely affected the III Armored Corps. We extend our sincere sympathies to Cameron Chamberlain’s family and friends.”
