Al Nassr’s hopes of winning the Saudi Pro League were kept alive after they defeated Al Tai 2-0, mainly due to a penalty kick by Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the race for the league championship, Ronaldo’s team had fallen five points behind leaders Al Ittihad heading into this week’s fixtures and needed a little miracle to get firmly back in the title frame.
After a record of just one goal in five club games across all competitions, the Portugal star squandered a good-headed chance in the first half on Tuesday (16 May) and saw a stinging effort excellently saved.
But he scored with ease from 12 yards out early in the second half and then Talisca capitalized on a defensive blunder to put Al Nassr up 2-0 and secure the victory.

Fans of Al Nassr had more to cheer about as the game wound down thanks to a late equalizer from Al Hilal, who held Al Ittihad to a 2-2 draw.
