The Bear’s second season trailer suggests that it will switch the nail-biting tension of managing a restaurant kitchen to the tension of attempting to open a restaurant on a tight schedule.
The second season of the FX-produced Hulu series which debuts on June 22 will start up where the previous one left off with Carmy’s (Jeremy Allen White) choice to shut down and reopen his family’s Chicago Italian bééf shop.
A six-month timeline was established by him, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) for the opening of the new business which included everything from menu development to dealing with city permitting red tape.
The official description is as follows: Season two follows Carmy, Sydney and Richie as they attempt to upgrade their run-down sandwich shop. The crew goes through personal transformational journeys as they gut the restaurant, being forced to face their pasts and reflect on their future selves.
The staff must juggle the ridiculous bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning since it turns out that starting a new restaurant is the hardest thing to do. The change also places a renewed emphasis on hospitality.
The entire team learns what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other as they are compelled to work together in novel ways that stretch the limits of their skills and relationships. Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson are also featured in The Bear.
Molly Gordon is joining the ensemble in a recurring role possibly as someone from Carmy’s past as hinted by her presence near the conclusion of the trailer. Edwin Lee Gibson and Oliver Platt will reprise their recurring roles from season one.
The Bear was conceived by Christopher Storer who also serves as executive producer alongside Matty Matheson, Josh Senior, Hiro Murai of Super Frog and Joanna Calo. You can check out the trailer of the latest series provided below:
